The Gift
40 x 30 x 1.5" oil painting on cradled wood panel
This painting was inspired by the uplifting feelings of both giving and receiving. The child is leaning forward and giving or perhaps receiving; in either case, there is an excitement, a sense of happiness. I want to evoke the feelings that are present during this act of kindness.
The figures are forming a triangle around the gift, which represents the kindness of human nature, us at our best.

I work with oils because I love their lush texture and natural look.
The cradled wood panel is custom made and coated with GAC (a wood sealant), followed with two coats of gesso. It is wired on the back and ready to hang.
