Since I grew up in California, Bluegrass, or Mountain Music was not part of my upbringing. It wasn't until I started teaching Art workshops along the Blue Ridge Parkway that I became fond of its raw melodies and heartfelt stories. With each exposure, the rhythms began to grow on me.
When I look at this painting, I remember and hear the soulful tunes that inspired me to paint it. I hope it also arouses fond memories for you.
